World Autism Day

Saturday, April 2, 2022 1:00 PM 4:00 PM
Kaneko 1111 Jones Street Omaha, NE, 68102

The autism community was invited for an exclusive sneak peek of the Common Senses Festival installations housed at KANEKO.

Guests celebrated World Autism Day with AAP, the Munroe-Meyer Institute, and WhyArts, enjoying interactive installations, connecting with the experts behind them, and participating in dance, movement, and visual arts activities.

Making Memories through Dance: Families and friends learned a simple dance led by one of our WhyArtists. All ages were welcome, and no dance experience was necessary.

Making Memories through Collage: Participants created framed pieces of collage art with their families and friends, also led by a WhyArtist. All ages were welcome, and no art experience was necessary.

This free event was open to all members of the autism community and their families.

The installations included Social Sensory Architecture, A Worm’s Eye View, Common Voices, Cardio Chairs, and The Living Room.
